I’ve never talked to anyone like this before. I’m used to handling things on my own. Isn’t therapy for the weak?

Not at all. It takes courage to prioritize your wellness and address personal challenges. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, we’ll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce how cope with stress.

Is Navigation Coaching the same as Therapy?

No, Navigation Coaching is not clinical therapy or counseling. Dominion Insight Navigation is a process in which you set and reach goals with the supportive guidance of a professional.

Why shouldn’t I just speak to my best friend or family?

A licensed mental health professional has a Master’s Degree and extensive training to help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, therapy is confidential.

Confiding in friends or family can lead to oversharing. At times, it’s important to safeguard your difficulties with a trained professional.

Doesn’t medication fix all mental health issues?

Medication can be effective but it alone cannot solve all issues. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with therapy. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals.

How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?

Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, it will be different depending on the individual. we tailor our therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

    How long will it take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say on a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique and the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek therapy in the first place. Digging deep into the past may take more or less sessions than if you’re healing from the end of a committed relationship.  We will set goals together but remember,  you’re in the driver’s seat.

I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help the process run smoothly?

Firstly, let us congratulate you for taking this huge step! It’s not easy to open up about personal matters to people. To get the best out of therapy we suggest relaxing a few minutes before sessions, remaining open-minded, and staying motivated. Open and honest communication with your therapist is key in order to truly have an authentic healing experience through reaching deeper understandings.

Your active participation and dedication will be the fuel to your success in therapy.
